Lynn! Lynn! The city of grins! You know those days you dream about in the dead of winter? Well that's the perfectly toasty setting Melissa and Bret had for their promenade around Red Rock Park where they used to frequent when they were first dating years ago. I always say that you should pick a place for engagement photos that is really meaningful, and it was fun to reminisce with the soon-to-be-wed lovers as we made our way from the lush lawns down the sea wall to the sands below. Uber romantique! Definitely can't wait for their fall wedding up in Partridge Hill Farm in Sandwich, NH.
June is known for being bright and sunny, but when the clouds started gathering, Heather and Chris didn't let a little rain get them down. Heather braved the drizzle for one of the most touching first-looks I have ever had the pleasure of photographing. These two were clearly in love from our engagement session, but Chris' reaction to seeing his bride for the first time floored me. The emotions continued throughout the day as Heather, Chris, and their bevy of 7 children made their real-life Brady Bunch official at Newport's premiere restaurant, The Landing. Later on, the sun peeped out for a gorgeous and glowy sunset and thoughts of rain were long gone as friends and family danced the night away.
Karli and Josh were our first wedding of 2019 and we couldn’t have asked for a better start to the season! From the gorgeous venue of Locke Falls Farm, the lawn games during cocktail hour, and wood fired pizza from White Mountain Catering! Everything came together in a knick of time for this beautiful day.
Even after over a decade together, Lauren and Mike thought getting their photos taken would be awkward city, but BAM! They braved the chilly waves and made out like professional, in-love models. These two were stunning bathed in that twilight glow and I can't wait for their wedding. None of the piping plover habitat was harmed in the making of these obsessively cute photos!
Erica and John told me several times that they were awkward in front of the camera…Uhm, Can I call rubbish on that? Just look at these two! Their love and fun spirits shine through on our sunset beach session. I can not wait for their 2020 wedding at the Oceanview and to capture more beautiful moments between these love birds!
I love elopements! Kayla and Valdir had a small, intimate, perfect ceremony in the beautiful Providence City Hall. Even though it rained most of their ceremony we were still able to get outside for some awesome downtown pictures! And come on, if you have to be stuck inside due to the rain, there really isnt a prettier building to be in.
The off season is bittersweet. It’s nice to be able take a step back and relax but after about 2 weeks, I am missing wedding season already lol. So I am really happy when a group of creatives get together for styled shoots and invite me along! I always learn something new from working with other people and it give me a chance to try creative fun artistic shots in a controlled environment. Plus, I make more friends! Woo Hoo!
Proposal’s are always such a range of emotions! Nervousness, excitement, anxiety, and the urge to pee every 5 minutes from all the anticipation! And that was just me! Not even the future fiancee! Jeremy kept his cool through the process and ended up engaged to the love of his life Kamille. Actually on the same bridge in Boston where they took their very first couple photo 4 year ago 😭
This was an amazing season! All of our weddings were beautiful and all of our couples were so fun and wonderful to work with! We shot in a wide variety of venues and many different styles of weddings, it’s beautiful to see everyones own personality come through on their wedding days. On a more personal level I felt myself grow this season professionally. I stepped up and became a leader, in my photography and as my decision to officially start a business under my own name. I have been shooting weddings for years now but mostly for other people under their business names. Going out on my own has been equal parts scary and exciting at the same time. I was surprised that finally deciding to go out on my own was a confidence booster for me. Actually telling myself everyday “I can do this” has been such a positive impact on my day to day happiness. Not to mention that I am doing what I love! To celebrate the end of the season I have picked some of my favorite moments from this year for this post. Enjoy!
Emily and Brian were married in true New England style- on a beach in Cape Cod. Their wedding was everything you could hope for, it was beautiful, it was fun, and it was full of love and emotion. I was overwhelmed with joy that they trusted me to capture all the moments of their special day.
